REIKI & HEALING TOUCH. Traditional Reiki or “Reiki Renaissance.” Having worked in the medical field for 20 years, I am very aware of the life-changing effects that a cancer diagnosis produces in the lives of so many patients and their loved ones. I have watched doctors dry tears from their eyes before entering the room of a patient just before delivering the devastating news of a cancer diagnosis. I myself have cried tears for many of these patients and their families, though strangers to me, because compassion knows no limits. Reiki, too, knows no limits. I practice Reiki as my way of sharing compassion and caring with the hope that the Reiki energy I share may be useful in promoting comfort, health, and well-being.

I offer traditional Reiki or, with my client’s permission, I incorporate what I call my “Reiki Renaissance” into the session. Reiki Renaissance is my unique “blend” of aspects of Silva, NLP, and Matrix Energetics into the Reiki treatment to enhance the possibility of meaningful change for my client.

Silva is a means for accessing intuition. NLP helps establish rapport. The basic concept of Matrix Energetics is to focus on the heart space, place intent, and allow for the possibility that in the next moment, anything can happen, even miracles. The calming, peaceful energy of Reiki provides the perfect venue for incorporating these useful techniques into a peaceful, relaxing experience where limitations can be transcended … and healing is allowed.

About me:

Dr. Nicole Taylor has specialized in working with individuals who have been dealing with the psychosocial and emotional consequences of physical limitations and chronic illnesses. She wrote her doctoral dissertation on the psychosocial impact of autoimmune diseases and her Masters thesis on daughters of women with breast cancer. Dr. Taylor has a particular interest in working with individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer, autoimmune diseases, and other types of chronic illness. She also specializes in helping couples and family members through the consequences of a loved one’s diagnosis and disease progression with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Dr. Taylor is also an obstetrics psychological consultant at a local Denver hospital and helps parents through pregnancy complications, loss of babies, and ongoing fertility and post-partum depression issues. She has a particular interest in helping individuals and families address end-of-life and grief and loss issues.

Dr. Taylor completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the top-ranked University of Maryland, College Park. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Towson University Counseling Center in Towson, Maryland and her post-doctoral fellowship at the Colorado Blood Cancer Institute at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado where she worked with individuals going through bone marrow transplants and their families. She completed her B.A. at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Taylor has presented at numerous national conventions and has published peer-reviewed chapters and articles. She was also an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and has taught both graduate and undergraduate classes in psychology and counseling.
