Learning that you have cancer can come as a shock. How did you react? You may have felt numb, frightened, or angry. You may not have believed what the doctor was saying. You may have felt all alone, even if your friends and family were in the same room with you. These feelings are all normal.
For many people, the first few weeks after diagnosis are very hard. After you hear the word “cancer,” you may have trouble breathing or listening to what is being said. When you are at home, you may have trouble thinking, eating, or sleeping. People with cancer and those close to them experience a wide range of feelings and emotions.
These feelings can change often and without warning. At times, you may: be angry, afraid, or worried, not really believe that you have cancer, feel out of control and not able to care for yourself, be sad, guilty, or lonely. We can help you move through the emotional roller coaster and help guide you on your path to healing your body, mind, spirit, and emotions. The care provided in this program embodies a traditional approach to ancillary cancer services such as traditional counseling, and integrates them with complimentary techniques to enhance the body’s healing ability, increase levels of relaxation or find peace.
The practitioners in our Integrative Health Program for cancer are experts in assisting both the diagnosed individual and those affected secondarily (such as caretakers and loved ones), in coming to terms with the changes in their lives and finding the courage to move forward in their treatment and healing. Talk therapy combined with relaxing massage, acupuncture, mind-body awareness, energy work, immune-boosting visualizations and more combine for a truly healing set of experiences.
How it Works
No registration is required to participate in our Integrative Cancer Program. It is structured for easy and affordable treatment in the form of discounted individual sessions with our professionals.
Simply contact any practitioner listed for your program, state you want to be an Integrative Cancer Program participant and you will receive the discounted rate of $50 per session. The rates of most participating program professionals are well over $100/hr for typical, non-program services. Discounted services consist of whole medical systems, mind-body medicine, biologically-based practices, manipulative and body-based practices, energy medicine and traditional talk therapy.
You are free to customize your path within the programs, choosing the professionals that interest you most at the time you would like to see them. However, we do offer a recommended schedule of visits to gain the most from your overall treatment. There is no time limit, and you are free to visit each practitioner as often as you would like, within the realm of the given program.
