As a counseling psychotherapist, I offer a safe and confidential space to unpack the issues and life experiences that have brought you to this moment.
I believe that the counseling setting should be peaceful and serene, a brief retreat from the demands and responsibilities of everyday life.
Often, the setting itself becomes a part of the healing process that takes place when one enters into therapy with a trusted and empathic counselor.
Although people enter counseling due to stress, family and couple’s problems, addictions, anxiety and depression, as well as other maladies of everyday life, many stay with the process. Once the crisis is resolved, an exciting and wonderful opportunity is available to really examine yourself, your life experiences and you find yourself at a crossroads: your past experiences can lead to you a life of more of the same or you can take the knowledge gleaned through slowing down and examining your life stories and begin to create the life you want: A life with you fully awake and aware, where you understand that you have the power to choose.
Do you react impulsively to the people and situations you come across in your journey through life, or do you respond mindfully, reflecting and slowing down before becoming engaged in other’s emotional dramas and life situations?
Do you get angry or worried, or do you use the skills learned in therapy to manage your emotions and quickly center and calm yourself in the midst of other’s storms and chaos?
Do you choose to see that your life experiences – whether painful or joyful- have brought you to this spot: you are unique and have the personal power to begin to choose the experiences, thoughts and emotions to create a life that has deep meaning and joy.
Without the opportunity to slow down, reflect, verbalize and be appropriately mirrored by a skilled counseling clinician, it is difficult to examine your life to the degree necessary to make the changes and have the type of understanding needed to be at peace with your past, centered and mindful in the present, and excited and hopeful for the future.
I invite you to take advantage of my offer for a free 30 minute phone consultation to begin the process of knowing and understanding.
