Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
TCM is the oldest medical system in the world. For the past 2000+ years, it has been used to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness. Acupuncture is one of the modalities of TCM. It is performed by inserting fine, sterile, disposable needles into the skin at specific points on the body. The needles are used to access the body’s life energy or Qi (pronounced chee) along the meridians. The treatment can then balance, strengthen, or unblock the flow of Qi to help restore health and harmony to the body. Other modalities of TCM include: Chinese Herbal Medicine, Moxibustion, Tui Na (Chinese massage), and diet & lifestyle counseling.
